POSITION:                 Commissioned Public Safety Officer

DEPARTMENT:         Public Safety

REPORTS TO:           Public Safety Department Supervisor

FLSA STATUS:           Hourly/Non-Exempt

Summary:

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Commissioned Public Safety Officer with Law Enforcement and/or Military experience for SMG Mercedes-Benz Superdome | Smoothie King Center | Champions Square.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Responds to emergencies or other situations/issues affecting the safety of other persons

·         Protects highly valuable property, such as equipment, material, grounds, etc.

·         Patrols an assigned area and/or stands in a fixed post

·         Performs security checks of buildings and grounds

·         Checks persons on the premises to determine if they possess proper identifications and are authorized to be present on SMG property

·         Checks identifications of persons who enter facilities or grounds

·         Completes incident reports as required

·         Conducts preliminary internal and criminal investigations relevant to incidents within an assigned area

·         Intervenes in disturbances/incidents to maintain peace or restore order

·         Effect arrest, where warranted and, authorized

·         Performs other related duties as directed

·         Erects barricades, temporary signs, and other materials for parking and crowd management

·         Sets up and removes barricades and signs

·         All other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ·         Must successfully pass a criminal background check

·         Must be at least 21 years of age

·         Must be able to work various shifts; 7 days a week

·         Must wear authorized uniform

·         Must present excellent written and oral communication skills

Education and/or Experience          

·         High School diploma or equivalent

 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

·         Must attend required commissioned officer training to obtain a Special Officers Commission from the N.O.P.D.

·         Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License at time of appointment and throughout employment

·         Must be able to qualify with a firearm at certified firing range by certified state instructor

Summary:

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Housekeeping - Janitor for SMG Mercedes-Benz Superdome | Smoothie King Center | Champions Square.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Conducts all cleaning duties including sweeping and vacuuming of carpets, sweeping, mopping and waxing floors, trash pick up and removal, cleaning of toilets and urinals, cleaning and shining mirrors, cleaning walls and trash cans, cleaning arena seats, dusting furniture, etc.

·         Control of housekeeping equipment including but not limited to brooms, mops, buckets and wringer, toilet brushes, garbage bags, push brooms, cleaning cloths, gloves, mask and cleaning solutions, etc.

·         All other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ·         Must successfully pass a criminal background check

·         Must be at least 18 years of age

·         Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 10 hours

·         1-2 years janitorial/custodial experience required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serves as Watch Commander and directs the actions and posting of all Public Safety Department personnel.  Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of facilities and grounds of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Smoothie King Center, and Champions Square by preventing crime and vandalism; preserve public peace; maintain parking control and enforcement of parking regulations on SMG property.  Responsible for shift administrative paperwork (Shift logs, Incident Reports, etc.).

·         Patrols Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Smoothie King Center and Champions Square at assigned area and/or stands at a fixed point to ensure the safety of guests and employees and to protect facility assets

·         Response to general and emergency calls to assist visitors, employees, and clients

·         Conducts preliminary investigations relevant to disturbances within an assigned area

·         Completes incident reports as required

·         Participates in event planning efforts and coordinates with clients.  Provides security for highly valuable property, such as equipment, material, grounds, etc.

·         Checks persons on the premises to determine if they possess proper identification and are authorized to be present on property

·         Intervenes in disturbances/incidents to maintain peace or restore order.  Effect arrests where warranted and authorized

·         Erects and moves barricades, temporary signs, and other barriers for parking or crowd control

·         Supervises part-time and temporary employees as required

·         Directs traffic on an interim basis on Superdome property

·         Requests tow truck(s) to remove illegally parked vehicles

·         Issues parking citations for parking violations

·         Provide overall supervision to all Shift personnel

·         Conducts and oversees the shift equipment inventory and related paperwork

·         Oversees security officers on specified shifts ensuring proper attire, timeliness to work and proper coverage of grounds

·         All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides management overall security personnel to maintain the security of facilities and grounds of the SMG campus by preventing crime and vandalism; preserve the public peace, and/or, to maintain traffic and parking control and enforcement of traffic and parking regulations.  Oversees administrative and management functions necessary to ensure efficient departmental operations.

·         Oversees appropriate Public Safety Department personnel, training programs, payroll, and accounting

·         Develops policy guidelines

·         Recommends disciplinary actions

·         Conducts internal investigations

·         Conducts inspections and audits to assure quality of service of subordinate personnel

·         Intervenes in disturbances/incidents to maintain peace or to restore order

·         Effect arrests where warranted and authorized

·         Performs other related duties as directed

·         Review the work performance to all subordinate personnel

·         Serves as an informational source to the public for company activities and events such as athletic events, conferences, performances, etc.

·         Overall supervision of full-time watch personnel.

·         Overall supervision and placement of event personnel.

·         Develop, implement and administer training for department personnel.

·         Review and approve incident reports.

·         Maintain electronic report writing system.

·         Conduct follow-up investigations.

·         Coordinate and supervise contract security vendor(s); including invoice reconciliation.

·         Plan, coordinate and execute pre-event setup; including requests for re-keying of areas.

·         Manage part-time staffing operation; including reconciliation of cost settlements.

·         Maintain various inventory including uniforms and equipment.

·         Complete necessary purchase requisitions.

·         Coordinate with police detail commanders on staffing levels.

·         Determine police staffing in coordination with Parking and Event Services Departments for exterior police coverage (Parking and Traffic Police).

·         Reconcile police staffing and administer police payroll system.

·         Process new hire packets for police detail officers.

·         Operate, maintain and perform quality control checks of CCTV, panic alarm and card access systems.

·         Coordinate rewards and recognition program for department personnel.

·         Monitor attendance of all personnel.

·         Coordinate and maintain Lost & Found program.

·         Create and distribute employee identification cards.

·         Maintain filing system in areas of responsibility.

·         Coordinate with NOPD Special Officer Division relative to commissions for armed personnel.

·         Conduct inspections and audits to ensure quality of service performance.

·         All other duties as assigned
