Marketing Coordinator - DCU Center (Worcester, MA)

Summary: SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Marketing Coordinator for SMG/DCU Center. Supports all marketing programs for the DCU Center including, but not limited to, public relations, advertising and event sponsorship / marketing, group sales, managing new/digital media and website.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Write and distribute press releases for all events and other facility activities
  • Develop and deliver media pitches for both facility and events
  • Maintain media contacts
  • Coordinate and execute promotions, press conferences, media events and interviews for events and the facility
  • Create newsletters, e-mail blasts and other mobile assets 
  • Update website, digital marquees/displays, video display board, calendars and social networks on a daily basis
  • Create and edit content for various publications
  • Create presentation materials for department heads
  • Development of new ideas, non-traditional events and programs that elevate the DCU Center brand at low cost and high impact
  • Daily monitoring of local and national news related to SMG and the DCU Center
  • Assist with creation and distribution of event related material
  • Provides post event reports, analysis and status reports on marketing programs
  • Assist with researching the marketability of possible events and increased sales
  • Assist with advertising sponsorships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintains at all times, high standards, positive attitude and professionalism
  • Works within the guidelines set forth in SMG’s Management Credo
  • Assists the Director of Marketing as required
  • All other relevant duties/responsibilities as assigned

 Education and/or Experience        

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college degree in Marketing, Public Relations or Journalism required.
  • Previous experience in Marketing, Public Relations and/or Journalism.
  • Experience in an advertising agency, radio/television, convention center or arena preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

 Computer Skills  

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database, spreadsheet, graphics and word processing software. Must be Internet savvy. Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Basic HTML is preferred. Knowledge of digital media and social network platforms is a must (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Linked In, Trip Advisor, etc.). 

 Other Qualifications 

 The Marketing Coordinator must be able to work irregular hour as dictated by the event schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays. The position requires working in an office and throughout the DCU Center facility.

Marketing Coordinator - SMG - Stockton Complex (Stockton, CA)

POSITION: Marketing Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

Summary

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Marketing Coordinator for SMG/ Stockton Arena, Bob Hope Theatre, and Oak Park Ice Arena. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for working with the Marketing Manager to create, execute and maintain marketing functions to maximize effectiveness and achieve ticket sales goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out specific marketing procedures related to events through advertising, public relations and group sales as requested by the Director of Sales and Marketing and Marketing Manager.
  • Maintain a variety of files and records of information such as budget, sales and marketing reports, event files, expense records and other related documents.
  • Create and manage outgoing e-mail blasts for both marketing and group sales databases.
  • Manage social media presence for each venue.
  • Manage and direct grassroots and viral efforts for all applicable events.
  • Assist with the implementation of marketing programs and promotions.
  • Maintain files within the Marketing Department (i.e. press clips, photos)
  • Helps implement group sales efforts as determined on an event-by-event basis.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction analysis, sales programs and service programs.
  • Help coordinate development and activities of a Street Team to promote events
  • Implement clerical duties of staff
  • Arrange and assist with any marketing needs from show promoters, managers or contacts.
  • Coordinate event pre-sale, on-sale, etc information
  • Manage Stockton Live website
  • Execute group sales marketing goals, both short and long range, to ensure the profit growth and expansion of group sales for facility tour events.
  • Assist with graphic design work needed for all venues.
  • Assist in the coordination of all photographic needs for events and promotional purposes, as well as for sponsorship sales.
  • Help coordinate all marketing efforts for the Stockton Heat Hockey Club
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Marketing, Public Relations or Sales in entertainment industry or related field or, equivalent combination of education and experience requirement.
  • Exposure to and familiarity with similar facility environment.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Basic understanding of demographics and media buying ability
  • Give attention to detail
