Accounts Receivable Coordinator - DCU Center (Worcester, MA)

Summary: SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Accounts Receivable Coordinator for SMG / DCU Center. The Accounts Receivable Coordinator provides assistance in the accounting department by handling the accounts receivable function for the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare and distribute invoices
  • Cash receipts, prepare checks for deposit, verify bank transactions
  • Process transactions in Solomon accounting system
  • Outstanding A/R follow-up
  • Process various daily reports
  • Maintain contract files
  • Accounts Receivable filing
  • Month end reconciliations
  • Other administrative and office projects

Education and/or Experience        

  •  High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ideal candidate should have at least one year office / clerical experience
  • Must be able to prioritize schedules, work independently and follow instructions

Skills and Abilities

  •  Strong mathematical skills
  • Must be able to prioritize schedules, work independently and follow instructions
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good working knowledge with MS Excel

Human Resources Generalist - DCU Center (Worcester, MA)

Summary: SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Human Resources Generalist at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts  01608. Perform all aspects of Human Resource Operations, as well as administration and maintenance of all Facility Benefit Programs, consistent with SMG policies by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follows SMG Human Resources policies to assure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions. Maintains compliance with state regulations concerning employment
  • Administers various Human Resources plans and procedures for all facility personnel
  • Performs recruitment activities. Writes and places advertisements. Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientations
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
  • Coordinates training or trains Managers in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance management, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment. Coordinates training or trains employees in SMG Customer Service Training
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Advises the corporate office of EEOC complaints and other employee relations problems
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
  • Administers performance review and salary administration program
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations

Supervisory Responsibilities    

 Directly supervises administrative employees in the Human Resources Department.  HRD carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

 Education and/or Experience      

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university
  • 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience administering benefit programs

Skills and Abilities

  •  Solid knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills essential 
  • Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations required

 Computer Skills   

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient In Word and Excel. Experience with ADP or HRIS software payroll systems is desirable.

Other Qualifications 

 Irregular hours and minimal land and/or air travel may be required.
